Information Resources, Lincoln Center Archives

DESCRIPTION

The Information Resources Office, which administers LCPA’s Records and Information Management Program and the Lincoln Center Archives, is seeking two interns for the fall 2017 semester.
The internships are open to Library Science students who plan to pursue a career in archives and records management. The internship will not exceed 220 hours scheduled between September 11 through December 22 (averaging 15 hours a week). Interns are required to work during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.


Archives Intern
The Information Resources Office of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts seeks an Archives Intern for the fall 2017 semester to work in the Lincoln Center Archives. The intern can expect to work on a collections survey to help define the record groups and series and to work on physical space management.
Required Qualifications
• Enrollment in Library Science degree program with Archives and Records Management concentration
• Basic understanding of archival principles and practices
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. and to climb ladders
• Ability to work independently

• Can bring a unique perspective to this internship and able to work well with others
• Enrollment in Library Science degree program with Archives and Records Management concentration

• Excellent verbal, face-to-face, written communication skills, and research skills and are comfortable interacting in a pleasant, professional manner
• Are skilled with MS Office, including MS Word and MS Excel
• Are attentive to detail
• Are enthusiastic, energetic, and flexible, with a great sense of humor
