POSITION START TIMELINE
Approximately February – June 2017
Lincoln Center Education’s mission is to enrich the lives of students, educators and lifelong learners by providing opportunities for engagement with the arts on stage, in the classroom, digitally and in the community. Central to all LCE programming is its distinctive approach to arts education, which uses the study of works of art to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can be applied in all school subjects, align with the Common Core State Standards, and are vitally important to success in the modern workplace.
Lincoln Center Education Shelter Programming Intern will collaborate with the LCE Community Engagement Programs Manager and Shelter Program Artist-in-Residence on logistics for events at Shelter program locations, including workshops, outreach and performances.
o Use Excel, Microsoft, Google Drive and PowerPoint to coordinate logistics
o Create nametags and packets for LCE events
o Scan and save files in our filing system
o Help manage the office spaces, finding ways for us to be more streamlined and organized
o Analyze participant assessment data to be used by our development team
o Support on-site marketing and outreach efforts
Lincoln Center Education Community Engagement Programs
o Work with Program managers to prepare and carry out Community Engagement events
o Set up and break down meetings related to Community Engagement programming
o Collect and analyze surveys from program participants
o Provide administrative support for staff
o Support marketing efforts promoting Community Engagement programming
This internship might be right for you if you are:
• Passionate about arts management, programming and community engagement
• Knowledgeable in Excel, Powerpoint, MS Office, basic media arts, writing, and editing skills
• Able to work well with others
• Willing to ask questions
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and flexible, with a propensity to laugh
Interns are paid $11/an hour for a 20-hour work week. This is a seasonal position from February 2017 through to June of 2017.
